Rachel Taylor, YT200, PYT, Yoga Tune Up® and The Roll Model® certified teacher

Rachel Taylor is an experienced movement practitioner and educator. In 13 years as a middle- and high-school history teacher, she taught yoga and breathing practices to students, and led staff professional development trainings on self-massage and mindfulness techniques. While teaching middle school, Rachel completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Laurel Beversdorf and Jess Blake at YogaWorks Soho, and prenatal yoga teacher training with Carrie Parker-Gastelu at BabyMoon Yoga. Between the births of her first and second sons, she added functional movement and self-massage training to her repertoire, and is a certified Yoga Tune Up® and The Roll Model® teacher, strongly influenced by the pioneering work of Jill Miller. A voracious reader and avid learner, Rachel takes every possible opportunity to study with teachers in various modalities and areas of expertise, and has completed trainings in trauma-informed mindfulness practices, joint and muscle function, breath work, nervous system regulation, and more. Rachel brings this body of knowledge to her work with clients, as she translates anatomical and philosophical ideas into daily life and helps people feel stronger, more stable, and more relaxed in their bodies.

Rachel holds her A.B. cum laude from Harvard and M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University. She lives in Hartford, CT with her husband, three young sons, and very naughty cat.
