Rachel Taylor, RYT 200, RPYT
Rachel Taylor is an experienced educator and practitioner of yoga, mindfulness, and movement. She has extensive experience with adolescents and their parents through her 12 years as a middle and high school history teacher. Rachel taught yoga to students and developed a handbook of mindfulness practices for teachers, which has been distributed to more than 2,000 school staff. She also has long-running and deep experience with babies and the parents of young children—most recently through her own pregnancy and infant son, and her work with other mothers in the postnatal period. Rachel is passionate about the benefits mindfulness and movement practices offer parents and families, and brings an innovative mixture of methodologies to her work with clients.
Rachel completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Laurel Beversdorf and Jess Blake at YogaWorks Soho, and prenatal yoga teacher training with Carrie Parker-Gastelu at BabyMoon Yoga. Most recently, she completed Yoga Tune Up(R) Level 1 Teacher Training with Laurel Beversdorf, including methods for increasing functional strength and stability as well as self-massage and deep relaxation. She holds a B.A. from Harvard and M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, son, and two naughty cats.
